Students’ Personality and Susceptibility to Persuasion during Mathematics Groupwork: An Exploratory Study

 The purpose of this exploratory study was to understand how and what extent personality traits, positionality, content knowledge influence students’ susceptibility persuasion during groupwork. Personality surveys, recorded videos, semi-structured interviews provided evidence support the findings. findings confirmed that individuals who have low levels conscientiousness or high neuroticism are more likely be convinced a group activity. Additionally, individual background influenced process. A rich body about subject area helped students feel they were confident; those had confidence actively involved in discussions firmly stood by their own opinions social However, indicated there not link between learners’ sociocultural factors. These provide educators with insights for improving design constructive groups mathematics classroom.
