Student motivation and satisfaction: Why choose an international academic franchise programme rather than a home one?

As globalisation increases, Higher Education Institutions are challenged to produce more young graduates meet the corporate world's demand for highly qualified, mobile international managers. Business and management programmes required have components attract best students. To date, majority of research has focused on quality such with few studies undertaken from students’ perspective. This article examines motivations study an internationally franchised academic programme, prior expectations whether these were met. Students at both undergraduate postgraduate level studying in five different countries asked what motivated them choose this form over other possibilities open them, their how satisfied they actual experiences. The results confirmed some previous findings, i.e. significance enhanced employability potential. However, also identified new themes, showing funders influenced choice that influence was affected by gender. queried true motivation franchisees’ potential those fully.
