چکیده
Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is a retinal disease representing one of the main causes vision loss in developed countries. In early stage DR, disruption blood barrier (BRB) observed, and it will lead to vascular permeability visual impairment. Therefore, protection against breakdown BRB may be useful strategy for prevention DR. Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) plays an important role degradation extracellular matrix proteins. they attribute increased by degrading junction proteins, such as occuldin cadherin that are maintain complex. Muller cells constitute glial retina involved many functions. They reported MMP-producing retina. this symposium review, I present molecular mechanism MMP expression cells. addition, would like introduce polymethoxylated flavones, nobiletin derivatives isolated from natural resource novel inhibitors, which applicable

Clinical Approaches of Retinal Diseases in Pregnancy
Pregnancy leads to significant changes in the body, which potentially affect the retina. Pregnancy can induce disease such as that seen in hypertensive retinopathy and choroidopathy. It can cause exudative retinal detachments in the HELLP syndrome (hemolysis, elevated liver enzymes, and low platelets), disseminated intravascular coagulation (DIC), and thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura (TTP), ...
متن کاملThe transcriptome of retinal Müller glial cells
Müller glial cells are the major type of glia in the mammalian retina. To identify the molecular machinery that defines Müller glial cell identity and function, single cell gene expression profiling was performed on Affymetrix microarrays. Identification of a cluster of genes expressed at high levels suggests a Müller glia core transcriptome, which likely underlies many of the functions of Müll...

Electrophysiological techniques were used to determine the ion selectivity properties and the spatial distribution of the membrane conductance of amphibian Müller cells. Membrane potential changes recorded during ion substitution experiments in frog (Rana pipiens) retinal slices demonstrated that the Müller cell K+:Na+ membrane permeability ratio is approximately 490:1 and that cell Cl- permeab...
متن کاملDiabetes-induced dysfunction of retinal Müller cells.
PURPOSE This study tested the hypothesis that the function of the glutamate transporter in retinal Müller cells is compromised early in the course of diabetes by a mechanism involving oxidation. Dysfunction of this transporter, which removes glutamate from the extracellular space, may play a critical role in the disruption of glutamate homeostasis that occurs in the diabetic retina. Because glu...
متن کاملCell based therapies in retinal diseases
Background Degenerative retinal diseases, including age related macular degeneration, glaucoma, and hereditary retinal dystrophies are major causes of blindness. The principal defect in these diseases is cell loss which is amenable to both cell based neuroprotective and neuroregenerative therapies. To briefly review the lines of research and potential candidates for cell based therapies among ...
