چکیده

Abstract. The OH stretching vibrational properties of eight serpentine samples from veins the New Caledonian ophiolite have been investigated by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) in mid-infrared and near-infrared ranges Raman spectroscopy. were selected for their monophasic composition (Lz: lizardite; Ctl: chrysotile; Atg: antigorite) making them representative three species. Comparison fundamental overtone spectra allowed us to interpret most observed bands propose consistent spectral decomposition individual components. related intrinsic minerals are distinguished those associated with chemical substitutions octahedral sites (mainly Fe Ni Mg substitutions). Observations made on symmetric Lz previous interpretations underline effect macroscopic parameters FTIR spectra. major importance distribution bond lengths broadening signals less more distorted Atg is confirmed. combination spectroscopic methods makes it possible unravel occurrence two different types interlayer environments Ctl nanotubes. One corresponds features at 3684 7171 cm−1 spectra, respectively, similar local environment Lz. other broader 3693 7200 respectively. It reflects a likely structural misfits between adjacent layers tubular structure Ctl.

Correlation between the Radiation Induced Colours and the OH-stretching Vibrations of Amazonite

The colours of many feldspars are enhanced by natural radiation. The same phenomenon can be simulated by X-ray radiation in the laboratory. The changes of colour and the formation of defect centers in different feldspars including one microcline (amazonite) after X-ray irradiation has been investigated using e.p.r. spectroscopy [1]. The main colours of amazonite are green, bluish green and blue...

Characterization of Chrysotile, Antigorite and Lizardite by Ft-raman Spectroscopy

We analyzed samples of antigorite, lizardite and fibrous chrysotile, three representative minerals of the serpentine group, to determine their chemical and structural properties, and their FT-Raman spectra. The low-frequency region of the spectrum (1200– 200 cm–1), which corresponds to the lattice-vibration modes, was then analyzed, and the observed bands attributed, on the basis of our results...

Role of carboxylate chelating agents on the chemical, structural and textural properties of hydroxyapatite.

Organically-modified hydroxyapatite materials were synthesized through the addition of oxalic, succinic, adipic and citric acids to a calcium hydroxide solution before neutralization by ammonium dihydrogenphosphate. All carboxylic acids have a significant influence on apatite crystallinity and nanoparticle size, as indicated by XRD and TEM. Chemical and thermogravimetric analyses as well as FTI...
