Structural Optimization of Single-Layer Graphene Metamaterial for Ultra-Broadband Terahertz Absorber

We propose and validate an approach to obtain ultra-broadband terahertz absorber by taking the advantages of absorption surface plasmon resonance in combination with intrinsic mode. The is composed a gold (Au) bottom layer patterned graphene embedded TOPAS polymer, exhibiting coupling modes. single-layer C4 symmetric regular polygons which are arranged circle circumscribed (CUPs) or inscribed (CIPs) at same periodicity for comparison. With increase side number ( N ), strongest weakest modes was achieved = 4 (square) ∞ (circle) CUP CIP arrangements, respectively. optimum bandwidth 2.54 THz relative 109.5% above 90% efficiency has been circles diameter 12.4 μm gap distance 1.0 μm. This design shows broader than previously reported absorbers. Therefore, proposed method would be highly valuable manufacture
