چکیده
Withania somnifera (W. somnifera), a small, woody shrub in the Solanaceae family, has been studied using phytochemical test, antibacterial activity and partial characterizations. Air-dried powdered leaves of plant were extracted with maceration over an electrical shaker solvent chloroform methanol. After crude extracts concentrated, diffusion susceptibility test was carried out on 25, 50, 75, 100 mg/mL methanol extract. The bacteria used S. aureus, pneumonia, E. coli, typhi. Each three times. most active extract subjected to fractionation column chromatography. Chloroform inhibits all cultures four bacteria. Both W. Somnifera both gram-positive negative bacterium comparable inhibition zone standard antibiotics, amoxicillin, gentamicin, cefoxitine. In addition, it gives maximum than that starting from 25 mg/mL. Methanol contains phenolic, alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins, phytosteroids. Partial characterization pure fractions by 1H-NMR, 13C-NMR, Dept-135 NMR, IR spectroscopy, compound WS-1 affords withaferin A. Withaferine A shows 11, 10.5, 9 mm against pneumoniae, typhi respectively.

Antibacterial activity of crude extracts of Spirulina platensis and its structural elucidation of bioactive compound
The concept of biological control for health maintenance has received widespread attention during the last few years. Therefore, the main objective of this work was to look for active substances that could be used as antibacterial agents. To achieve this target, two different extract (Methanol and Acetone) from Spirulina platensis was examined. The algal extracts were tested in vitro for their ...
متن کاملdetection of volatile compounds of medicinal plants with some nano-sorbents using modified or new methodologies and investigation of antioxidant activity of their methanolic extracts
in this work, a novel and fast method for direct analysis of volatile compounds (davc) of medicinal plants has been developed by holding a filament from different parts of a plant in the gc injection port. the extraction and analysis of volatile components of a small amount of plant were carried out in one-step without any sample preparation. after optimization of temperature, extraction time a...
postnatal studies of bats (pipistrellus kuhlii and miniopterus schreibersii) & histomorphology and histochemistry studies of organs and diseases of (neurergus microspilotus and n. kaiseri)
1. to determine whether difference in birth body mass influenced growth performance in pipistrellus kuhlii we studied a total of 12 captive-born neonates. bats were assigned to two body mass groups: light birth body mass (lbw: 0.89 ± 0.05, n=8) and heavy birth body mass (hbw: 1.35 ± 0.08, n=4). heavier body mass at birth was associated with rapid postnatal growth (body mass and forearm length) ...

متن کاملAntibacterial activity of leaf extracts of Biophytum sensitivum (L.) DC
Biophytum sensitivum (L.) DC. (Oxalidaceae) is an ethnomedicinal plant used in folklore medicine. The main aim of this study demonstrates that the leaves extracts of B. sensitivum (methanol, chloroform, acetone, and petroleum ether) was evaluated for its antibacterial activity against several human pathogenic bacterial strains (Bacillus subtillis, Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus pneumonia,...
