چکیده

In several areas worldwide, the high cost and shortage of natural resources have encouraged researchers engineers to explore serviceability feasibility using recycled aggregates in concrete mixtures, substituting a normal aggregate percentage. This technique has advantages for environment by reducing accumulation waste materials, while it impacts fresh hardened performances, workability, flexural strength, compressive tensile strength. However, most studies investigated influence replacing with on mechanical properties without examining impact materials structural performance. The aim this research is investigate effect 75% sand volume polyvinyl chloride (PVC) fine performance reinforced slabs. Different thicknesses layer (0%, 25%, 50%, 100% slab thickness) containing PVC are investigated. Based reductions toughness strength capacity due incorporating dosage, two approaches used strengthen slabs aggregates. first approach adding alcohol (PVA) mix improve concrete. PVA increases water viscosity concrete, which reduces dry out phenomenon. With that said, modified does enable use limits dosage plastic second uses fiber wire mesh layers as an additional reinforcement tested slab. Results show PVC-30 exhibits 8% decrease total area compared control (Con) slab, PVC-60 toughness, shows 26% less. Additionally, inclusion replacement greatly influences pre-and post-cracking ductile among other slabs, representing higher contents might increase Therefore, substantial material performance, proposed utilize optimum PCV mix.

Structural Consideration in Design of Reinforced Concrete Slabs with Openings

Over 90% of framed structures in Uganda are built from reinforced concrete. Prior to the 1990’s, most buildings had no openings in slabs, yet in city centers buildings butt against each other with widows at front and back only. This limited retail activities to front rooms of the ground floor and the buildings had to be narrow. A baseline survey of 50 shopping malls in Kampala Central Business ...

Behaviour of fibre reinforced concrete slabs

This paper presents a comparison of the properties of concrete slabs when two types of fibres are added. One specimen had no fibres and acted as a control specimen. The remaining four specimens had steel and polypropylene fibres added in the volumetric ratio of 0.5% and 1.0%. The dimensions of the slab specimens were 820×820×80 mm and were supported by four rollers at their edges. A displacemen...

Cyclic Behavior of Low Rise Concrete Shear Walls Containing Recycled Coarse and Fine Aggregates

In this study, the cyclic behaviors of low rise concrete shear walls using recycled coarse or fine aggregates were investigated. Eight low rise Recycled Aggregates Concrete (RAC) shear wall specimens were designed and tested under a cyclic loading. The following parameters were varied: replacement percentages of recycled coarse or fine aggregates, reinforcement ratio, axial force ratio and X-sh...

Bonding Behavior of Deformed Steel Rebars in Sustainable Concrete Containing both Fine and Coarse Recycled Aggregates

In order to assess the bond behavior of deformed steel rebars in recycled-aggregate concrete (RAC) incorporating both fine and coarse recycled aggregate, pull-out tests were carried out in this study on 16-mm diameter deformed steel rebars embedded concentrically in RAC. The concrete was designed using equivalently mixed proportions of both recycled coarse aggregate and recycled fine aggregate....

Numerical Analysis of Punching Shear Failure of Reinforced Concrete Slabs

Nearly no load bearing behaviour of reinforced concrete members allows such varied interpretations and complex discussions as the shear behaviour. Especially the three-dimensional problem of the punching shear failure of reinforced concrete members is internationally discussed. Nevertheless up to now, there is no unified design approach or even an overall accepted design model. Especially for l...
