Strong Acid Effects for Characterization Clay from District Tanah Miring, Merauke Regency

چکیده
The abundance of clay in the Merauke district has not been utilized optimally. This is due to a lack research and information about these clays. Clay one natural minerals from silica group whose particle size less than two micrometers many uses, including basic materials for manufacture ceramics, paper-making materials, adsorbents, assisting drilling, bleaching CPO. In this study, characterization carried out functional using an FTIR spectrophotometer, crystallinity XRD, morphological analysis by SEM. results obtained that mineral content sloping soil was proposed contain Illite Quartz with main peaks diffractogram appearing at angle 2θ 21 o ; 26 36 42 angles d (Å) 3.34 4.25. XRD were also tested search-match analysis, sample intensity containing quartz (~ 98%). development material, it necessary obtain data determine exact components clay.

Geotechnical Characterization of Mined Clay from Appalachian Ohio: Challenges and Implications for the Clay Mining Industry
Clayey soil found in coal mines in Appalachian Ohio is often sold to landfills for constructing Recompacted Soil Liners (RSL) in landfills. Since clayey soils possess low hydraulic conductivity, the suitability of mined clay for RSL in Ohio is first assessed by determining its clay content. When soil samples are tested in a laboratory, the same engineering properties are typically expected for ...
متن کاملDesorption of arsenic from clay and humic acid-coated clay by dissolved phosphate and silicate.
Arsenic (As) contaminated aquifers contain iron minerals and clays that strongly bind As at their surfaces. It was suggested that As mobilization is driven by natural organic matter (including fulvic acids (FA) and humic acids (HA)) present in the aquifers either via providing reducing equivalents for reductive dissolution of Fe(III) (hydr)oxides or via competitive desorption of As from the min...
متن کاملA strong bio-inspired layered PNIPAM-clay nanocomposite hydrogel.
The demand for robust hydrogels in pharmaceutical, biomedical, and industrial applications has motivated intense research efforts in these wet polymeric materials. Recent advances have resulted in different strategies for creating highly stretchable polymeric hydrogels, including sliding-ring gels (SR gels), nanocomposite gels (NC gels), doublenetwork gels (DN gels), macromolecular microsphere ...
متن کاملSynthesis and Characterization of Porous Clay Heterostructures
Porous clay heterostructures (PCH) based on modified montmorillonite were synthesized using different reaction conditions (different hydration degrees, pH values and reaction times). The PCH precursors and PCH were characterized using FTIR Spectroscopy and X-Ray Diffractions (XRD). The XRD results showed that basal distance of porous clay heterostructures was significantly influenced by the mod...
متن کاملThermodynamic Characterization of Clay/electrolyte Systems
-Clay/electrolyte systems are best characterized using a new variable, notional interfacial content (NIC). The NIC approach emphasizes that any division of the total amount of a species present in a clay/ electrolyte system into that part which 'belongs' to the clay and that part which 'belongs' to solution is necessarily arbitrary. It carries out this division by choosing one of the species as...
