Stress Corrosion Cracking in Amorphous Phase Separated Oxide Glasses: A Holistic Review of Their Structures, Physical, Mechanical and Fracture Properties

چکیده
Stress corrosion cracking is a well-known phenomenon in oxide glasses. However, how amorphous phase separation (APS) alters stress cracking, and the overall mechanical response of an glass less known literature. APS dominant feature concerning many multicomponent systems, particularly ternary sodium borosilicate (SBN) systems. Its three constituent oxides have significant industrial relevance, as they are principal components Simulations experimental studies demonstrate existence two-phase metastable miscibility gap. Furthermore, theory suggests possibility three-phase these Literature already details mechanisms characterizes SBN microstructures. Realizing that glasses structurally sensitive materials opens number other questions mesoscopic affects continuum behavior glasses, including dynamic fracture cracking. This paper reviews current literature provides synthetic viewpoint on structures alter physical, mechanical, fracture, properties.

15 صفحه اولTarnish Resistance, Corrosion and Stress Corrosion Cracking of Gold Alloys
Tarnishing, corrosion and stress corrosion cracking (SeC) of gold alloys are related phenomena. They present problems when they occur in gold jewellery, dental gold alloys and electronic devices. They are exploited, however, in the depletion gilding and finishing of gold jewellery; and in the extraction, refining and fire assaying of gold. There is still much that is not known about these pheno...

15 صفحه اولCorrosion Product Film-Induced Stress Facilitates Stress Corrosion Cracking
Finite element analyses were conducted to clarify the role of corrosion product films (CPFs) in stress corrosion cracking (SCC). Flat and U-shaped edge-notched specimens were investigated in terms of the CPF-induced stress in the metallic substrate and the stress in the CPF. For a U-shaped edge-notched specimen, the stress field in front of the notch tip is affected by the Young's modulus of th...
