چکیده
High content of organic matter and fibre within peat results in a high degree porosity; causing to have low bearing capacity. This study focuses on the application nylon as reinforcing material with fly ash chemical stabilizer enhance strength peat. The standard proctor tests were conducted obtain optimum moisture (OMC) for all samples which these OMC is then used sample preparation both Unconfined Compressive Strength (UCS) California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests. Samples this categorized into control modified comparison purposes. Additives that being are 5% cement, 10%, 15%, 20% ash. For UCS test, cured 7, 14, 28 56 days, whereas only 7 days curing CBR test. Throughout study, improvements observed where added 10% recorded highest compressive value, 123.71 kN/m2. As exceeded minimum requirement 12% value subgrade design recommended by JKR Malaysia obtained from cement values 43.85% 43.70% unsoaked soaked condition, respectively.

Strength and behaviour of Fly Ash based Steel Fibre Reinforced Concrete Composite
This experimental investigation is to study the effects of replacement of cement (by weight) with five percentage of fly ash and the effects of addition of steel fiber composite. A control mixture of proportions 1:1:49:1.79 with w/c of 0.45 was designed. Cement was replaced with five percentages (10%, 15%, 20%, 25% & 30%) of Class C fly ash. Four percentages of steel fibers (0.15%, 0.30%, 0.45%...
متن کاملShear Strength Characteristics of Fiber Reinforced Fly Ash
Disposal of an industrial waste like flyash produced from burning of coals in thermal power stations requires a large land area. The decreasing availability of good construction site has led to the increased use of low lying areas filled up with industrial wastes whose bearing capacity is low. In-situ treatment of such industrial waste fills; in order to improve their bearing capacity with rein...
متن کاملPermeability Characteristics of Compacted and Stabilized Clay with Cement, Peat Ash and Silica Sand
The present paper investigates the influence of stabilization with cement, peat ash, and silica sand on permeability coefficient (kv) of compacted clay, using a novel approach to stabilize the clay with peat ash as a supplementary material of cement in the compacted and stabilized soil. In order to assess the mentioned influence, test specimens of both untreated and stabilized soil have been te...
متن کاملStudy on Strength Behavior of Organic Soil Stabilized with Fly Ash
The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of fly ash on the consistency, compactness, acidic properties, and strength of organic soil. The presence of organic content in the soil has detrimental impacts on the physical and strength behavior of soil. To investigate the effectiveness of fly ash in the stabilization of organic soil, two types of fly ashes (Type I and Type II) at different...
متن کاملElastic properties of fly ash-stabilized mixes
Stabilized mixes are used in the construction of bearing layers in asphalt and concrete pavement structures. Two nondestructive methods: resonant frequency method and ultrasonic pulse velocity method, were used for estimation of elastic properties of fly ash-stabilized mixes. Stabilized mixes were designed containing sand from the river Drava and binder composed of different share of cement and...
