Strawberry Production with Different Mulches and Wetted Areas

نویسندگان

چکیده

The use of mulch contributes to the reduction water consumption and weed infestation in strawberry cultivation. Recycled paper, being biodegradable, has great potential replace plastics. Thus, objective was evaluate agronomic performance subjected different wetted areas mulches. wet tested were 40% (WA40) 70% (WA70) imposed by a drip irrigation system. types were: white polyethylene (WHP), black (BLP), recycled paper (REP) no (NM). BLP, REP WHP mulches promoted same control. number fruits per plant, fruit length, yield, productivity did not differ for factors area mulch. Higher mass diameter found WA40 treatment, while favored only mass. yield showed difference, differed between Strawberry higher WA70. In relation waste, it that BLP provided values than NM. combined with 40%, is recommended as production.

Effect of Different Mulches under Rainfall Concentration System on Corn Production in the Semi-arid Areas of the Loess Plateau

The ridge and furrow farming system for rainfall concentration (RC) has gradually been popularized to improve the water availability for crops and to increase the water use efficiency (WUE), thereby stabilizing high yields. In the RC system, plastic-covered ridges are rainfall harvesting zones and furrows are planting zones. In this study, we optimized the mulching patterns for RC planting to m...

Optimizing Strawberry Production with a Reduced Tillage System

A recently completed (Nov. 2009), Cornell University project that focused on controlling weeds in strawberries during the establishment year by transplanting dormant berry plants into a killed cover crop showed great promise, but revealed a barrier. Most growers had difficulty planting through the cover crop. This resulted in slower establishment during the first month and possibly caused skips...

Enhanced Pest Management with Cover Crop Mulches

Living and dead plant vegetation on the surface of soils can provide opportunities for regulating pest populations in no-tillage production systems. Cover crops generate substantial quantities of surface vegetation and residue that can be managed to enhance control of pests. Research at the Beltsville Agricultural Research Center has shown that weed germination and emergence is inhibited by hig...

Analysis of two production inventory systems with buffer, retrials and different production rates

This paper considers the comparison of two ðs; SÞ production inventory systems with retrials of unsatisfied customers. The time for producing and adding each item to the inventory is exponentially distributed with rate b. However, a production rate ab higher than b is used at the beginning of the production. The higher production rate will reduce customers’ loss when inventory level appro...
