Strategy of cerebral endovascular treatment for cervical internal carotid artery stenosis with a persistent primitive hypoglossal artery

چکیده
Background: Persistent primitive hypoglossal artery (PPHA) is a rare residual arterial anastomosis. We placed CASPER stent using Spider FX as an embolic protection device (EPD) in patient with internal carotid (ICA) stenosis and PPHA. There are no reports of stenting (CAS) for ICA report the EPD strategy used this case usefulness precautions insertion cervical association Methods: A 9Fr sheath was right femoral Branchor balloon guide catheter guided to common artery. proximal bifurcation 10 mm × 20 deployed at site stricture postoperative ischemic complications. Results: intra-stent occlusion, stenosis, or plaque protrusion immediately after surgery, complications were observed. Conclusion: deployment PPHA can be considered effective treatment method associated However, care should taken selecting appropriate EPDs stents depending on location

Carotid Artery Stenting for Symptomatic Stenosis of the Cervical Carotid Artery Associated with Persistent Primitive Hypoglossal Artery: A Case Report
Objective: A case of symptomatic cervical carotid artery stenosis with persistent primitive hypoglossal artery (PPHA) treated by carotid artery stenting (CAS) with appropriate embolic protection is reported. Case Presentation: The patient was a 65-year-old male presenting with left hemiplegia. MRI revealed infarction in the right cerebral hemisphere, and cerebral angiography demonstrated stenos...
متن کاملPrimitive hypoglossal artery and carotid endarterectomy.
A patient with transient ischemic symptoms in the carotid and vertebrobasilar distribution is reported. His arteriogram demonstrated a persistent primitive hypoglossal artery which in part may explain the clinical picture. The embryology, radiology, clinical manifestations, and surgical considerations of this rare anomaly are discussed.

Persistent primitive hypoglossal artery (PPHA) which is a persistent carotid-basilar anastomosis is a rare vascular anomaly. It is usually found incidentally. Fenestrations of cerebral arteries are uncommon. Herein we present a case of PPHA with fenestration of posterior cerebral artery. A 28 year old man was admitted to our hospital with complaints of dizziness and temporary loss of vision. Ne...
متن کاملVariant of Persistent Primitive Trigeminal Artery Associated with Giant Internal Carotid Artery Pseudoaneurysm
We report a rare variation of the left persistent primitive trigeminal artery with direct anastomosis with the ipsilateral posterior cerebral artery in a 53-year-old women. She was sent to the hospital with visual deterioration and consciousness disturbance (Glasgow coma scale = E4V3M5). Marked hydrocephalus was found. An associated giant pseudoaneurysm was shown arising from the cisternal segm...
