چکیده
Effective surface functionalization plays a critical role in the selectivity and sensitivity of sensing devices. While chalcogenide glasses (ChG) have received lot attention as promising optical materials for mid-IR biosensors, there been just few reported instances their successful (bio)functionalization. In present work, we explore three different approaches grafting heterobifunctional derivatives on Ge25Sb10S65 substrates. One these consisted use traditional silane chemistry to functionalize hydroxyl moieties ChG, while other two are novel strategies based potential reactivity maleimide cyclooctyne sulfhydryl at inorganic glass matrix. Using approaches, biotinylated surfaces were prepared selective fluorescent-labeled protein was then validated via IR spectroscopy, AFM fluorescence. Our results showed that biofunctionalization Ge-Sb-S ChG achieved by all methods. Moreover, process can be easily adapted substrates with any type geometry molecules surface, paving way future development infrared systems exhibiting bio selectivity.

Due to the remarkable properties of chalcogenide (Chg) glasses, Chg optical waveguides should play a significant role in the development of optical biosensors. This paper describes the fabrication and properties of chalcogenide fibres and planar waveguides. Using optical fibre transparent in the mid-infrared spectral range we have developed a biosensor that can collect information on whole meta...

Glassy samples with a composition of 40P2O5–30V2O5–(30-x)Li2O– xK2O, 0<x<30 (mol %) were prepared by the conventional melt quenching technique in two forms of bulk and blown film. X-ray diffraction patterns corroborated the amorphous feature of the samples. Density of samples was investigated by using Archimedes principle. Based on absorption and reflection spectra, indirect a...

A detailed study of the wavelength dependence of the formation of lenslets by photo-expansion in chalcogenide glasses is reported. Photo-expansion in chalcogenide glasses offers a one-step fabrication process to record surface structures such as gratings and microlenses. The process is purely optical and requires no fixing and etching to get the desired surface structure. Two competing effects,...
