Experience using Spin and Promela in the Design of a Storm Surge Barrier Control System

The Spin tool set (Spin and Xspin) was used to validate parts of the design of a storm surge barrier control system, in particular the communication interfaces with the outside world. Abstract A scenario for future storm surge heights for the tide gauge of Hamburg St. Pauli is constructed on the basis of results from a regional model for Cuxhaven.
