چکیده

Seed reserve mobilization is considered a post-germination process; however, seed storage protein occurs during germination. Thus, the knowledge of composition important to understand various processes germination, and it be associated with vigor. Therefore, this study aimed characterize landrace genotypes common bean (Phaseolus vulgaris) through fractionation proteins germination verify association between Genotypes highest (55 81) lowest (23 50) physiological quality were selected. Protein content analysis, profiling, characterization performed by combining different hydration times. Mass spectrometry involving in-gel digestion MALDI-ToF analysis was employed for qualitative identification proteins. Glutelin extraction detected enzyme lipoxygenase in 55 81 alone. In plants, may involved diverse processes, including growth development, pest resistance, senescence, response wounding. process removes reactive oxygen species mobilization; therefore, candidate biochemical marker high-vigor genotypes.

Germination and viability coefficients of Faba Bean (Vicia faba) seed under different storage conditions

Extended Abstract Introduction: Pulses are among the best sources of plant protein and important components of crop rotation, which in recent years, have been considered one of the major options for plant research. Seed storage is one of the important traits in legume breeding. Storage temperature, seed moisture content, and storage duration are the most important factors affecting seed qualit...

Italian Common Bean Landraces: History, Genetic Diversity and Seed Quality

The long tradition of common bean cultivation in Italy has allowed the evolution of many landraces adapted to restricted areas. Nowadays, in response to market demands, old landraces are gradually being replaced by improved cultivars. However, landraces still survive in marginal areas of several Italian regions. Most of them appear severely endangered with risk of extinction due to the advanced...

Protein mobilization and proteolytic enzyme activities during seed germination of broad bean (Vicia faba L.).

The protein mobilization from attached and detached seeds of Vicia faba L. cv. Eresen 87 (Fabaceae) was investigated. While the total soluble protein content decreased, the free amino acid content increased during the 7 days germination period. Among the three proteolytic enzymes, only endopeptidase activity was found to be affected by the removal of the embryonic axis. Leucine aminopeptidase a...

Purification and characterization of arcelin seed protein from common bean.

Arcelin, a seed protein originally discovered in wild bean accessions, was purified, characterized, and compared to phaseolin, the major seed protein of common bean, and to phytohemagglutinin (PHA), the major bean seed lectin. Arcelin and PHA has several characteristics in common. Both were glycoproteins having similar subunit M(r), deglycosylated M(r), and amino acid compositions. The two prot...
