چکیده

Abstract In this paper, the unsteady flow around a high-speed train is numerically simulated by detached eddy simulation method (DES), and far-field noise predicted using Ffowcs Williams-Hawkings (FW-H) acoustic model. The reliability of numerical calculation verified wind tunnel experiments. superposition relationship between radiated local aerodynamic sources whole source analyzed. Experimental Investigation of Noise Annoyance Caused by High-speed Trains

The observed difference in perceived annoyance caused by train and highway noise at the same averaged noise level, has led to the introduction of the ‘railway bonus’. This bonus has found its way to the noise legislation in many countries, leading to more relaxed restrictions on time averaged noise levels, LAeq. With the introduction of high-speed trains and train-like transportation systems ba...

Numerical solution of two-dimensional integral equations of the first kind by multi-step methods

‎‎‎In this paper‎, ‎we develop multi-step methods to solve a class of two-dimensional nonlinear Volterra integral equations (2D-NVIEs) of the first kind‎. ‎Here‎, ‎we convert a 2D-NVIE of the first kind to a one-dimensional linear VIE of the first kind and then we solve the resulted equation numerically by multi-step methods‎. ‎We also verify convergence and error analysis of the method‎. ‎At t...

Approaches to formalisation of medical guidelines can be divided into model–centric and document–centric. While model–centric approaches dominate in the development of clinical decision support applications, document–centric, mark–up–based formalisation is suitable for application tasks requiring the 'literal' content of the document to be transferred into the formal model. Examples of such tas...

In most dynamic traffic congestion models, congestion tolls must vary continuously over time to achieve the full optimum. This is also the case in Vickrey's (1969) ‘bottleneck model’. To date, the closest approximations of this ideal in practice have so-called ‘step tolls’, in which the toll takes on different values over discrete time intervals, but is constant within each interval. Given the ...

Step-by-Step Migrations

This paper considers a dynamic model of industry location in which there is a tension between two forces. First, there is the agglomerating force of preference of intermediate input variety that tends to keep an industry at its original location. Second, other location factors matter and these tend to pull the industry in the direction of a new location. A crucial aspect of the model is that th...
