Stem Cell Therapy for Myocardial Infarction: A Mini-Review
نویسندگان
چکیده
Stem cells are undifferentiated that can proliferate, regenerate, develop into differentiated cells, and produce a variety of tissues. Embryonic stem adult or somatic pluripotent the three types cells. Another classification is totipotent, multipotent, unipotent cell treatment has possibility treating degenerative disorders, cancer, restoration damaged tissues, all which now have no restricted medicinal alternatives. Myocardial infarction potentially fatal condition caused by permanent loss cardiomyocytes deterioration in heart's blood-pumping capacity. Throughout last two decades, cell-based treatments for myocardial therapy been researched with encouraging results. Traditional slows disease development but little effect on healing. Because their ability to initiate de novo cardiogenesis, embryonic thought be potential candidate cardiac regeneration.

Cell therapy for age-related disorders: myocardial infarction and stroke--a mini-review.
BACKGROUND The leading causes of death and disability in the elderly are from cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases. The biological role of stem cells in the hematopoietic system has been well characterized and has led to the development of hematopoietic stem and progenitor cell (HSPC) transplantation for the treatment of numerous malignant and nonmalignant diseases. More recently, stem c...

Remodeling of the left ventricle after myocardial infarction represents a major cause of infarct-related heart failure and death. Experimental data suggest that bone marrow-derived cells may contribute to the healing of myocardial infarction. The selective intracoronary transplantation of autologous, mononuclear bone marrow cells is safe and seems to be effective under clinical conditions conce...
متن کاملOxygen and oxygenation in stem-cell therapy for myocardial infarction.
Myocardial infarction (MI) is caused by deprivation of oxygen and nutrients to the cardiac tissue due to blockade of coronary artery. It is a major contributor to chronic heart disease, a leading cause of mortality in the modern world. Oxygen is required to meet the constant energy demands for heart contractility, and also plays an important role in the regulation of heart function. However, re...
