SteE enhances the colonization of Salmonella Pullorum in chickens

چکیده

Salmonella pullorum (S. pullorum) is the causative agent of disease and results in severe economic losses poultry, can long-term survival by colonizing host organs. steE an effector protein secreted pathogenicity island 2. It not clear vivo for colonization Salmonella. To investigate role on S. Pullorum principal organs chicken, we used ΔsteE strains immunized chickens, respectively. The virulence assay showed that LD50 was 22.8 times higher than chickens. experiment bacteria overall change trend number were similar chicken liver, spleen, heart, bursa, cecum, which increased first then decreased. However, deletion caused significantly reduced colonization, pathological change, a infection model. Our findings provide exciting insights into pathogenic mechanism live attenuated vaccine associated with pullorum.

Helicobacter pullorum in Chickens, Belgium

A total of 110 broilers from 11 flocks were tested for Helicobacter pullorum by polymerase chain reaction; positive samples were reexamined with a conventional isolation method. H. pullorum isolates were examined by amplified fragment length polymorphism (AFLP) fingerprinting for interstrain genetic diversity and relatedness. Sixteen isolates from cecal samples from 2 different flocks were obta...

Serological response of chickens to Salmonella thompson and Salmonella pullorum infections.

Chickens were experimentally infected with Salmonella thompson (serogroup C, paratyphoid) and Salmonella pullorum (serogroup D). Five serological methods and one cultural method were used in detecting the infections. The microantiglobulin test was superior to all other methods for detection of paratyphoid (S. THOMPSON) infection and was followed in efficacy by the microagglutination test, rapid...

Pullorum disease of chickens is a bacterial infection caused by Salmonella enterica subspecies enterica serovar Gallinarum biovar Pullorum

In its acute form, Pullorum disease is almost exclusively a septicaemic disease of young chickens. However, the organism may also be associated with disease in turkey poults and may be carried subclinically or lead to reduced egg production and hatchability plus a range of atypical signs in older birds. Ovarian transmission is a major route by which the organism can spread. Game birds and ‘back...

Arabinoxylooligosaccharides from wheat bran inhibit Salmonella colonization in broiler chickens.

The objective of this in vivo experiment was to evaluate the influence of arabinoxylooligosaccharides (AXOS) on shedding and colonization of Salmonella Enteritidis in broilers. Arabinoxylooligosaccharides, which are oligosaccharides derived from arabinoxylans by partial hydrolysis, have a beneficial effect on feed conversion ratios when added to broiler diets. Additionally, AXOS have been shown...
