چکیده
Abstract Land degradation in the form of soil erosion is one major causes for declining ecosystem functions northern highlands Ethiopia including Eastern Tigray. Hence, different integrated watershed management practices were introduced last few years to avert problem. Currently, most these are phased out. However, status and challenges after phase-out not well documented required scientific research. On-field measurement from nine sample plots having a size each 50 m*50 m at 200 interval was conducted assess practices. Results assessment showed that physical water conservation structures deteriorated by 47–64% IWM project The key problems lack periodic maintenance, limited support biological measures. study results suggest Watershed technologies highly challenged phase-out. integration among community, government non-governmental organizations needed sustainably manage resources.

Feeding practices, nutritional status and associated factors of lactating women in Samre Woreda, South Eastern Zone of Tigray, Ethiopia
BACKGROUND Lactating mothers from low-income settings are considered as a nutritionally vulnerable group. Due to the nursing process, mothers are subjected to nutritional stresses. Frequent pregnancies followed by lactation increase the health risk of mothers resulting in a high maternal mortality. OBJECTIVE To assess the feeding practices, nutritional status and associated factors of lactati...

Watershed management has different effects on the amount of runoff and sediment and alteration ofhydrological features in a watershed. In this study, the effects of watershed management on runoff was investigated in the Anbaranchaywatershed. For this purpose, the topography data in format of a digital elevation model, land use, soil hydrological groups and watershed managemetrigeon, and also usi...
متن کاملWatershed Management in Nepal: Challenges and Constraints
Nepal’s terrain is dissected by many rivers and streams to form a complex of watersheds. Natural and human-induced processes operate on these watersheds. The main processes that lead to the degradation of watersheds are landslides, soil erosion, floods, biodiversity loss, and unsustainable water extraction and farming practices. These lead to the loss of soil fertility, the depletion of water t...
