Statistical Network Analysis with Bergm

چکیده
Recent advances in computational methods for intractable models have made network data increasingly amenable to statistical analysis. Exponential random graph (ERGMs) emerged as one of the main families capable capturing complex dependence structure a wide range applied contexts. The Bergm package R has become popular carry out Bayesian parameter inference, missing imputation, model selection and goodness-of-fit diagnostics ERGMs. Over last few years, been considerably improved terms efficiency by adopting some state-of-the-art doublyintractable distributions. Recently, version 5 available on CRAN having undergone substantial makeover, which it more accessible easy use practitioners. New functions include augmentation procedures based approximate exchange algorithm dealing with data, adjusted pseudolikelihood pseudo-posterior procedures, allow fast inference ERGM posterior evidence networks several thousands nodes.

Markov chains can be used for the modeling of complex longitudinal network data. One class of probability models to model the evolution of social networks are stochastic actor-oriented models for network change proposed by Snijders (1996, 2001). These models are continuous-time Markov chain models that are implemented as simulation models. In this paper an extension of the simulation algorithm ...

Comparing networks in neuroscience is hard, because the topological properties of a given network are necessarily dependent on the number of edges in that network. This problem arises in the analysis of both weighted and unweighted networks. The term density is often used in this context, in order to refer to the mean edge weight of a weighted network, or to the number of edges in an unweighted...

This paper discusses an area of application that seems somewhat remote from the other application areas of the symposia. The intension is not to dwell on biological and experimental issues, but briefly to introduce the biological background and setting and then move on to discuss aspects of statistical methodology that frequently are applied in the biosciences and elsewhere: Markov chain Monte ...
متن کاملStatistical Inverse Analysis for a Network Microsimulator
CORSIM is a large microsimulator for vehicular traffic, and is being studied with respect to its ability to successfully model and predict behavior of traffic in a 36 block section of Chicago. Inputs to the simulator include information about street configuration, driver behavior, traffic light timing, turning probabilities at each corner and distributions of traffic ingress into the system. Da...
