چکیده
Abstract Ionospheric total electron content (TEC) is one of the key parameters for users radio-based systems, such as Global Navigation Satellite System, high-frequency communication and space-based remote sensing since ionospheric delay proportional to TEC through propagation path. It important know extreme values in readiness hazardous conditions. The purpose this study estimate with occurrences once per year, 10 years, hundred years Japan. In order TEC, a cumulative distribution function daily derived using 22 data from 1997 2018. corresponding year are 90 110 TECU, respectively, Tokyo, On other hand, 22-year set not sufficient once-per-100-year value. Thus, we use 62-year manually scaled ionosonde critical frequency F-layer (foF2) at Kokubunji Tokyo. First, relationship between foF2 investigate slab thickness. Then result applied statistical 62 years. study, two methods first method, thickness artificially inflated values. second thicknesses shows that about 150–190 TECU value also estimated be 180–230 Kagoshima 120–150 Hokkaido, southern northern parts Japan, respectively.

Ionospheric total electron content (TEC) studies with GPS in the equatorial region
This paper essentially deals with the effects of equatorial ionization anomaly gradient on space-based navigation systems like GPS. The equatorial region of the ionosphere, which extends about ±30dip about the magnetic equator, is characterized by a steep latitudinal gradient, not only in the maximum ionization but also in the total electron content (TEC), through a major part of the day. This ...
متن کاملLong-Term Prediction of the Arctic Ionospheric TEC Based on Time-Varying Periodograms
Knowledge of the polar ionospheric total electron content (TEC) and its future variations is of scientific and engineering relevance. In this study, a new method is developed to predict Arctic mean TEC on the scale of a solar cycle using previous data covering 14 years. The Arctic TEC is derived from global positioning system measurements using the spherical cap harmonic analysis mapping method...
متن کاملOn the short-term relationship between solar soft X-ray irradiances and equatorial total electron content (TEC)
[1] The relationship between total electron content (TEC) and the solar soft X-ray irradiances is presented. Three bands (2–7 nm, 6–19 nm, and 17–20 nm) of solar soft X-ray measurements from the Student Nitric Oxide Explorer (SNOE) satellite are examined and all show a similar relationship with TEC. The TEC data are from a GPS receiver near Ancon, Peru ( 11.78 degrees latitude, 77.15 degrees lo...
متن کاملEstimation Method of Ionospheric TEC Distribution using Single Frequency Measurements of GPS Signals
The satellite-to-ground communications are influenced by ionospheric plasma which varies depending on solar and geomagnetic activities as well as regions and local times. With the expansion of use of the space, continuous monitoring of the ionospheric plasma has become an important issue. In Global Positioning System (GPS), the ionospheric delay, which is proportional to ionospheric total elect...
متن کاملAnalysis of ionospheric scintillation spectra and TEC in the Chinese low latitude region
GPS L-band scintillations and total electron content (TEC) were recorded at Sanya (18.33◦N, 109.52◦E) during the period July 2004–July 2005. Automatic recorded raw digital scintillation data are analyzed to obtain the spectral characteristics of irregularities producing ionospheric scintillations and to estimate the correlation between amplitude scintillation and power spectral density. Concurr...
