Static Friction in Oil Lubricated Cold Forming Processes

چکیده
Abstract Friction is one of the variables that have a far-reaching influence on forming processes. In past, less attention was paid to static friction than sliding in this paper, test stand for determination under load metal presented. The results are discussed using example an oscillating cold process. It could be shown expected low application. Graphical abstract

Lubricated friction between incommensurate substrates
This paper is part of a study of the frictional dynamics of a confined solid lubricant film – modelled as a one-dimensional chain of interacting particles confined between two ideally incommensurate substrates, one of which is driven relative to the other through an attached spring moving at constant velocity. This model system is characterized by three inherent length scales; depending on the ...
متن کاملTransition from static to kinetic friction in a model lubricated system
Molecularly thin confined fluids were deformed in shear faster than structural relaxations in response to shear could be accomplished, such that with increasing deformation the systems passed from the rest state to sliding. The response of these systems—two atomically smooth mica sheets separated by a fluid comprised of globularly shaped molecules @octamethylcyclotetrasiloxane#—was studied as a...
متن کاملStatic or breakloose friction for lubricated contacts: the role of surface roughness and dewetting.
We present experimental data for the static or breakloose friction for lubricated elastomer contacts, as a function of the time of stationary contact. Due to fluid squeeze-out from the asperity contact regions, the breakloose friction force increases continuously with the time of stationary contact. We consider three different cases: (a) PDMS rubber balls against flat smooth glass surfaces, (b)...
متن کاملTribological behaviors of several polymer–polymer sliding combinations under dry friction and oil-lubricated conditions
The friction and wear properties of polyamide 66 (PA66), polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) and polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) sliding against hemselves under dry sliding and oil-lubricated conditions were studied by using a pin-on-disc tribometer. The effect of applied load and sliding peed on tribological behaviors of the polymer–polymer sliding combinations under dry sliding and oil-lubricated cond...
متن کاملFriction reduction in lubricated-MEMS with complex slip surface pattern
Many types of micro-electro-mechanical-system (MEMS) based products are currently employed in a variety of applications. However, high friction in these systems is a problem which limits the development of MEMS devices in which sliding contacts are involved. The aim of this research is to evaluate the effect of boundary slip on the hydrodynamic friction in a low load lubricated MEMS, in particu...
