Standardized Measurement of Femoral Artery Depth by Computed Tomography to Predict Vascular Complications After Transcatheter Aortic Valve Implantation

چکیده
Vascular complications (VCs) are difficult to predict and remain an important issue after transfemoral (TF) transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) although their incidence has decreased with size reduction of introducers. We aimed evaluate a standardized measurement femoral artery depth (FAD) using computed tomography (CT) VCs TAVI. performed retrospective study 679 TF TAVI patients. evaluated CT method measure FAD immediately above the bifurcation. Sheath-to-femoral-artery ratio (SFAR), calcification, tortuosity were also evaluated. defined by Valve Academic Research Consortium (VARC)-2. Receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curves used major need for stent-graft. The median values SFAR 49.0 (36.2 66.7) mm 0.95 (0.81 1.18), respectively. Major occurred in 37 (5.4%) patients stent-graft was required 49 (7.1%) predicted [0.61 (0.51 0.70), p = 0.04] but not [0.52 (0.40 0.63), 0.76]. In contrast, did [0.53 (0.43 0.62), 0.61] [0.70 (0.58 0.81), 0.001]. Calcification neither nor conclusion, results our suggest that measurements provide additional information

Role of preprocedural computed tomography in transcatheter aortic valve implantation.
UNLABELLED Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is currently considered an acceptable alternative for the treatment of patients with severe aortic stenosis and a high perioperative risk or a contraindication for open surgery. The benefit of TAVI significantly outweighs the risk of the procedure in patients requiring treatment that are not suitable for open surgery, and leads to a lowe...

OBJECTIVES This study sought to evaluate the incidence, impact, and predictors of vascular complications in transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI). BACKGROUND Vascular complications increase morbidity and mortality in transfemoral TAVI; however, there remains a paucity of data describing these serious events. METHODS We performed a prospective cohort study of 130 consecutive transfe...

INTRODUCTION The best techniques for reduction of femoral access site complications after transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) remain the object of research. AIM We report on a single center's experience with TAVI performed via the femoral access site. MATERIAL AND METHODS Between September 2010 and September 2015, 152 consecutive patients underwent TAVI in our department. Of them...

Aortic stenosis is a common disorder. Aortic valve replacement is indicated in symptomatic patients with severe aortic stenosis, as the prognosis of untreated patients is poor. Nevertheless, many patients pose a prohibitively high surgical risk and are not candidates for surgical valve replacement. Transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) is a novel method to treat selected high-risk pati...

transcatheteraortic valve implantation, first introduced in 2002, has been established as an alternative modality for patients deemed not suitable for open-heart surgery. the anatomical vicinity of the atrioventricular node and the his bundle to the non-coronary and rightcoronary aortic cusps predisposes patients to conduction abnormalities in case of severe calcification or mechanical trauma d...
