Standardization of Wedge Grafting Technique in Guava (Psidium guajava L.) under Subtropical Conditions of Himachal Pradesh

The present investigation was carried out in the fruit nursery, Department of Fruit Science, College Horticulture and Forestry, Neri, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh w.e.f., June, 2019−July, 2020. In two factors viz., time wedge grafting (mid-June, mid-July, mid-August, mid-September, mid-February mid-March) use polycap (Graft union covered with or without polycap) were studied to standardize ideal for under protected conditions. Wedge is being used as a rapid successful technique year-round production guava plants, even harsh climatic conditions coving graft has also been obtaining higher success due development congenial microclimate graft’s region. results thus obtained showed that performed during resulted maximum graft-take (84.44%) survival percent (80.31%). Whereas, executed mid-July bud sprout (71.11%), minimum sprouting (10.67 days) first leaf emergence (14.24 days). grafts induced notable increase plant growth attributes plants number leaves length at 30, 45, 60, 75 90 days after grafting.
