Stakeholders’ perspectives of comprehensive sexuality education in Iranian male adolescences

Abstract Background A coherent sexuality education program for adolescents is part of their sexual and reproductive rights can help them have a healthier future. Therefore, the aim this study was to explore perspectives intervention preferences Iranian stakeholders regarding comprehensive (CSE) in male based on IMB model (information, motivation, behavioral skills). Methods This qualitative that analyzed through directed content analysis approach. Individual interviews focused group discussions (FGDs) were used data collection. The collected in-depth semi-structured with two schools Education Department Sari Ministry Health Tehran from March 2019 August 2019. Data saturation achieved after 28 1 FGDs 9 participants. Finally, sets coded using analysis. Results In study, five themes emerged as (1) role institutions; (2) organizations; (3) need stakeholder’s partnership; (4) adolescent socialization management; (5) enhancing teachers’ professional competence, which seemed influence implementation CSE adolescents. Participants also expressed number CSE. most important these change macro policies, helping create culture against all forms violence breaking taboo children Conclusions results revealed adolescents' socialization. finding showed teachers required training enhance competence about issues. it necessary design implement culture-appropriate skill programs adolescents’ health.
