چکیده
Nanoparticles have shown great potential in many sectors of the oil and gas industry, including enhanced recovery (EOR). They can be used to improve water flooding by altering wettability porous medium, reducing interfacial tension, blocking pores, or preventing asphaltene precipitation. Ensuring stability nanofluids injected into reservoirs is essential a challenge. However, high temperature favors particle collisions salinity (ionic strength) decreases electrostatic repulsion between particles. Therefore, are extremely unstable at reservoir conditions. In this paper, we investigated effects electrolytes (brine seawater) (up 80 °C) on silica nanofluids. The characterized dynamic light scattering (size), turbidity (stability), zeta (electrostatic repulsions). One solution increase compensate for loss repulsive forces due salts through increased and/or steric repulsions changing pH base fluid. At ionic strength (42 g/L NaCl seawater), 0.1 0.5 wt% basic about one day, regardless temperature. contrast, 1.5, least three weeks °C. results obtained with fluids containing divalent cations confirmed their more destabilizing effect. This study that it possible stabilize beyond month conditions just lowering near isoelectric point.

Structural stability of silica at high pressures and temperatures
The high-pressure phase diagram of SiO2 has been calculated using density-functional perturbation theory. We find that phase transitions of silica do not correspond to any observed seismic discontinuities within the Earth. We analyze the breakdown of close packing occurring in SiO2 above 200 GPa and conclude that it is due to asphericity and deformability of ions, which can generally lead to th...
متن کاملAqueous Hybrids of Silica Nanoparticles and Hydrophobically Associating Hydrolyzed Polyacrylamide Used for EOR in High-Temperature and High-Salinity Reservoirs
Water-soluble polymers are known to be used in chemically enhanced oil recovery (EOR) processes, but their applications are limited in high-temperature and high-salinity oil reservoirs because of their inherent poor salt tolerance and weak thermal stability. Hydrophobic association of partially hydrolyzed polyacryamide (HAHPAM) complexed with silica nanoparticles to prepare nano-hybrids is repo...
متن کاملCharacteristic Points of Stress-Strain Curve at High Temperature
Determination of critical points on hot stress-strain curve of metals is crucial in thermo-mechanical processes design. In this investigation a mathematical modeling is given to illustrate the behavior of metal during hot deformation processes such as hot rolling. The critical strain for the onset of dynamic recrystallization has been obtained as a function of strain at the maximum stress. In a...

Rice Husk Ash-Derived Silica Nanofluids: Synthesis and Stability Study
Nanofluids, colloidal suspensions consisting of base fluids and nanoparticles, are a new generation of engineering working fluids. Nanofluids have shown great potential in heat/mass transfer applications. However, their practical applications are limited by the high production cost and low stability. In this study, a low-cost agricultural waste, rice husk ash (RHA), was used as a silicon source...
