Quantitative Fluorescence Photoacoustic Tomography
Fluorescence photoacoustic tomography (fPAT) is a multi-modality biomedical imaging technique that combines the high-resolution ultrasound imaging with the highcontrast fluorescence optical tomography. In the first step of fPAT, one utilizes the photoacoustic effect to recover the total absorbed energy map inside the media with ultrasound tomography. In the second step, called quantitative fPAT...
متن کاملQuantitative Photoacoustic Tomography
This chapter focuses on quantitative photoacoustic tomography to recover optical maps from the deposited optical energy. After a brief overview of models, theories and algorithms, we provide an algorithm for large-scale 3D reconstructions, so-called gradient-based bound-constrained split Bregman method (GBSB).
متن کاملQuantitative photoacoustic tomography
In this paper, several algorithms that allow for quantitative photoacoustic reconstruction of tissue optical, acoustic and physiological properties are described in a finite-element method based framework. These quantitative reconstruction algorithms are compared, and the merits and limitations associated with these methods are discussed. In addition, a multispectral approach is presented for c...
متن کاملReconstruction-classification method for quantitative photoacoustic tomography.
We propose a combined reconstruction-classification method for simultaneously recovering absorption and scattering in turbid media from images of absorbed optical energy. This method exploits knowledge that optical parameters are determined by a limited number of classes to iteratively improve their estimate. Numerical experiments show that the proposed approach allows for accurate recovery of ...
متن کاملMultiple-source quantitative photoacoustic tomography
Photoacoustic tomography (PAT) is a novel hybrid medical imaging technique that aims to combine the large contrast of optical coefficients with the high resolution capabilities of ultrasounds. We assume that the first step of PAT, namely the reconstruction of a map of absorbed radiation from boundary ultrasound measurement, is done. We focus on quantitative photoacoustic tomography (QPAT), whic...
