In this paper, stability of a rotor with was studied. internal damping instability model deduced, and mechanism explored. boundary analyzed by using R-H criterion. simulation. An experimental system rotors different structural parameters built. influence positioning surface clearance on analyzed. modeling results show that friction introduce additional anti-symmetrical cross stiffness rotor, reduce vibration response, become unstable. simulation not be unstable when two surfaces are an interference fit. When one fit other fit, threshold speed higher than first-order critical speed. At same time, due introduced sleeve tooth structure, there transition stage instability. vibrate sub-harmonic components, but amplitude decrease. increases suddenly. obtained characteristics have important value for fault diagnosis, provide help control.
