SQAS, social responsibility assessment or instrumentalisation?

Safety and Quality Assessment for Sustainability (SQAS) is evaluation promoted by an as-sociation of chemical companies called CEFIC. Its vocation to serve as a tool the as-sessment safety, quality, security, health, environmental corporate social responsi-bility (CSR) logistic suppliers, but activity that promote it can generate doubts about its instrumentalization. On other hand, ISO 26000 offers agreed guidance framework on responsibility (SR). Through comparative analysis, using core subjects basis, suitability SQAS in “Transport Service” modality, SR measurement tool, tested. The analysis detects im-portant shortcomings assessed, especially those referring human rights, moral obligations with society or stakeholder commitment participation, assessment stands out exhaustiveness specific transporta-tion safety issues. This work contributes contextualize CSR identify aspects should be incorporated more effective assess CSR. It also shows lack rigor self-regulation tools organizations.
