Split Cycle: a new Condorcet-consistent voting method independent of clones and immune to spoilers

Abstract We propose a Condorcet-consistent voting method that we call Split Cycle. Cycle belongs to the small family of known methods satisfying anti-vote-splitting criterion independence clones . In this family, only satisfies new immunity spoilers , which concerns adding candidates elections, as well criteria positive involvement and negative concern voters elections. Thus, in contrast other clone-independent methods, mitigates both “spoiler effects” “strong no show paradoxes.”
