Splenic hemangiomatosis.
CASE REPORT A 56-year-old woman saw her primary care provider for progressive left fl ank pain with bulging of the left side of the abdomen. A magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) study of the thoracic spine without contrast enhancement incidentally discovered the spleen to be enlarged and largely replaced with cystic lesions (Figure 1). Further discussions with the patient revealed that she had pr...
متن کاملA Rare Case of Diffuse Hemangiomatosis of the Spleen with Splenic Rupture following Aortic Valve Replacement
In this paper we present a rare case of splenic rupture that occurred after an open aortic valve replacement in a male patient with hemangiomatosis of the spleen and the liver. The patient was treated with an emergency splenectomy. He showed no other sings of associated systemic disorder, such as Klippel-trénaunay syndrome or Proteus syndrome.

Examination showed numerous bright red papules – some with erythematous base – distributed over the trunk, limbs, face, and genitalia (Fig. 1). Abdominal ultrasonography was n...
متن کاملDiffuse Skeletal Hemangiomatosis Mimicking Sacroiliitis
Hemangiomatosis of the skeletal system is a rare disease without specific symptoms and signs. We describe a 20-year-old patient with low back pain, whose plain radiographs of sacroiliac (SI) joint showed irregular sclerotic lesions. The patient was finally confirmed with skeletal hemangiomatosis by magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) and excisional biopsy of the lesion. The present case suggests t...
