Phonon assisted tunneling in Josephson junctions
The expression for additional subgap current in the presence of electron– phonon interaction is derived. We show that the phonon assisted tunneling leads to the appearance of peaks on current-voltage characteristics at the Josephson frequencies corresponding to the Raman-active phonons. The relation of the obtained results to the experimental observation are discussed. 72.20 Fg., 74.50.+r Types...
متن کاملSpin relaxation in Mn12-acetate
– We present a comprehensive theory of the magnetization relaxation in a Mn12acetate crystal based on thermally assisted spin tunneling induced by quartic anisotropy and weak transverse magnetic fields. The overall relaxation rate as function of the magnetic field is calculated and shown to agree well with data including all resonance peaks. The Lorentzian shape of the resonances is also in goo...
متن کاملSpin-dependent Trap-assisted Tunneling Including Spin Relaxation at Room Temperature
In order to realize spin-driven devices in semiconductors, efficient spin injection and detection must be possible. Two schemes to analyze spin injection into a semiconductor are available [1]. A signal obtained with the three-terminal scheme at room temperature was documented for both nand p-doped silicon in 2009 [2]. Electric signals believed to be corresponding to spin injection through sili...
متن کاملElectron Spin-Phonon Relaxation in Quantum Dots
We calculate the spin relaxation rates in parabolic quantum dots due to the phonon modulation of the spin-orbit interaction in presence of an external magnetic field. Both, deformation potential (DP) and piezoelectric (PE) electron-phonon couplings are included in the Pavlov-Firsov spin-phonon Hamiltonian. We demonstrate that the spin relaxation rates are particularly sensitive with the Landé g...
متن کاملTunnel Magnetoresistance for Phonon-Assisted Tunneling through Quantum Dots
Spin-polarized transport through a single-level quantum dot interacting with a local phonon mode is studied in the frame of the nonequilibrium Green-function technique. It is shown that strong electron–phonon interaction gives rise to a significant current suppression, to additional resonance peaks in the differential conductance as well as to oscillations of the tunnel magnetoresistance. Also,...
