چکیده

We study spin-scattering asymmetry at the interface of two ferromagnets (FMs) based on a half-metallic Co$_{2}$Fe$_{0.4}$Mn$_{0.6}$Si (CFMS)/CoFe interface. First-principles ballistic transport calculations Landauer formula for (001)-CoFe/CFMS/CoFe indicate strong spin-dependent conductance CFMS/CoFe interface, suggesting large coefficient ($\gamma$). Fully epitaxial current-perpendicular-to-plane giant magnetoresistance (CPP-GMR) pseudo-spin-valve (PSV) devices involving CoFe/CFMS/Ag/CFMS/CoFe structures exhibit an enhancement in MR output owing to formation room temperature (RT). This is well reproduced qualitatively by simulation generalized two-current series-resistor model with considering presence $\gamma$ half-metallicity CFMS, and combinations terminated atoms interfaces CPP-GMR PSV structure. show direct evidence FM/FM its impact effect even RT.

Temperature-dependent asymmetry of the nonlocal spin-injection resistance: evidence for spin nonconserving interface scattering.

We report nonlocal spin injection and detection experiments on mesoscopic Co-Al2O3-Cu spin valves. We have observed a temperature-dependent asymmetry in the nonlocal resistance between parallel and antiparallel configurations of the magnetic injector and detector. This strongly supports the existence of a nonequilibrium resistance that depends on the relative orientation of the detector magneti...

Half-metallic alloys: electronic structure, magnetism and spin polarization.

Using the state-of-the-art screened Korringa-Kohn-Rostoker Green function method we study the electronic and magnetic properties of NiMnSb and similar Heusler alloys. We show that all these compounds are half-metals, e.g. the minority-spin band is semiconducting and the Fermi level falls within this gap resulting in 100% spin polarization at the Fermi level. The total spin moment M(t) shows the...

THz-Driven Ultrafast Spin-Lattice Scattering in Amorphous Metallic Ferromagnets.

We use single-cycle THz fields and the femtosecond magneto-optical Kerr effect to, respectively, excite and probe the magnetization dynamics in two thin-film ferromagnets with different lattice structures: crystalline Fe and amorphous CoFeB. We observe Landau-Lifshitz-torque magnetization dynamics of comparable magnitude in both systems, but only the amorphous sample shows ultrafast demagnetiza...

Theory of Spin Loss at Metallic Interfaces.

Interfacial spin-flip scattering plays an important role in magnetoelectronic devices. Spin loss at metallic interfaces is usually quantified by matching the magnetoresistance data for multilayers to the Valet-Fert model, while treating each interface as a fictitious bulk layer whose thickness is δ times the spin-diffusion length. By employing the properly generalized circuit theory and the sca...
