Speech Acts Used in Covid-19 English and Arabic News Reports

For the past three years, Covid-19 has been dominant topic in international media. It central of various researches and studies. Accordingly, this study aims at presenting theoretical background pragmatics, media discourse, relation between two. In addition, it identifying uncovering speech acts used selected English Arabic news articles following Searle (1979) taxonomy. The are published by different local digital newspapers, including USA Today, Guardian, Daily Mail, Almada Newspaper, BAGHDADTODAY.NEWS, Asharq Al-Awsat Newspaper. findings prove that more reports than reports. Also, most frequently category is assertive two types data.
