چکیده
Gray matter, in the outermost layer of cerebral cortex, plays a significant role processing important information, such as when reasoning and planning, addition to influencing intelligence, emotion, memory, language. In this paper, measurements optical properties, attenuation coefficients, scattering efficiency, penetration depth gray matter cortex were measured fresh brain tissue healthy human male at spectral range 400–1100 nm. Determining properties is for developing NIR noninvasive diagnostic imaging techniques therapy. The absorption spectra tissues obtained here showed clear peaks 550 580 nm due HBO2 970 water. coefficient, transport length, 800 possible was roughly 3.8 mm, determined by theoretical limit resulting from ballistic snake photons. Using Beer’s law Mie model, structural density neurons, tissue, investigated first time. neurons examined sample estimated 40,000 neurons/mg.

The optical properties of human cranial bones were measured in the wavelength range 800-2000 nm. The measurements were carried out using the commercially available spectrophotometer with an integrating sphere. The inverse addingdoubling method was used to determine the absorption and reduced scattering coefficients from the measurements.
متن کاملMechanical properties of gray and white matter brain tissue by indentation.
The mammalian brain is composed of an outer layer of gray matter, consisting of cell bodies, dendrites, and unmyelinated axons, and an inner core of white matter, consisting primarily of myelinated axons. Recent evidence suggests that microstructural differences between gray and white matter play an important role during neurodevelopment. While brain tissue as a whole is rheologically well char...

What does the research say? Evidence linking inequities in anatomy to intellectual ability is hard to come by. For starters, sex differences in performance on standardized tests of general intelligence are negligible, with insignificant differences sometimes favoring women, sometimes favoring men. And although neuroscientists are discovering a multitude of sex-related differences in brain struc...

Purpose: This study is designed to determine the sex differences in brain weight and volume of left hemisphere and its gray and white matters in right-handed normal subjects and the right-handed subjects which were suffered from Alzheimer and Parkinson diseases. Materials and Methods: This study was performed on 72 normal human brains (38 male, 34 female), 11 brains suffered from Alzheimer (4 ...
