Specificities of small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer: Adverse prognostic value of TTF1 expression

چکیده
To determine whether small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancers (NEPCa) emerging after anti-androgen treatments are different from the rarest cases diagnosed de novo, and to identify effective predictive markers. The expression of markers, androgen receptor (AR) androgen-regulated genes, as well markers aggressiveness, were analyzed by immunohistochemistry on a tissue microarray containing samples 30 sNEPCa, either pure or admixed with conventional PCa, including 14 novo 16 subsequent prior deprivation. Chromogranin A is better marker NE differentiation than synaptophysin in post-treatment NEPCa, 94% 44% positive tumors, respectively, while both equally expressed cases. Despite acquisition phenotype, more half NEPCa AR gene NKX3.1, frequently PCa. TTF1 staining, present was associated loss genes increased proliferation, Zeb1 PTEN loss. In multivariate analysis, only significantly shorter overall survival. These results suggest persistence signaling number cases, interest staining biomarker.

Prognostic value of neuroendocrine markers for predicting survival in patients with small cell lung cancer
Patients with small cell lung carcinoma (SCLC) present neuroendocrine (NE) properties and chromogranin A (CGA), synaptophysin (Syn), and neural cell adhesion molecule 1 (NCAM1) are known as NE diagnostic markers, while the predictive value of the NE differentiation in SCLC remains uncertain. The aim of this retrospective study was to evaluate the prognostic significance of NE markers in tissue ...
متن کاملPrognostic value of transformer 2β expression in prostate cancer.
BACKGROUND Deregulation of transformer 2β (Tra2β) has been implicated in several cancers. However, the role of Tra2β expression in prostate cancer (PCa) is unclear. Therefore, this study was to investigate the expression of Tra2β in PCa and evaluated its association with clinicopathological variables and prognosis. METHODS Thirty paired fresh PCa samples were analyzed for Tra2β expression by ...
متن کاملTTF1 expression in non-small cell lung carcinoma: association with TTF1 gene amplification and improved survival.
Acquired chromosomal aberrations play an important role in tumour development and progression. Such genetic alterations occur in a significant proportion of non-small cell lung carcinomas (NSCLCs) and include amplification of 14q13.3, which contains the TTF1 gene. We asked whether TTF1 amplification is associated with increased TTF1 protein expression in NSCLCs, and whether TTF1 is associated w...
متن کاملEvaluation of the Prognostic Value and TRIP13 gene Expression in Gastric Cancer
Introduction: Gastric cancer is a major public health issue worldwide. The factors that initiate cancer are not well understood, however aberrant expression of genes is associated with this cancer. TRIP13 plays pivotal roles in meiotic recombination, DNA repair, and cell cycle progression. An increasing body of evidence suggests that TRIP13 may possess functions other than meiosis and mitosis, ...
متن کامل[Prognostic value of ERBB2 amplification and protein expression in small cell lung cancer].
OBJECTIVE Our objective was to evaluate ERBB2 oncogene amplification using fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) and protein overexpression using immunohistochemical techniques, and to explore their possible prognostic value in a series of patients with small cell carcinoma. PATIENTS AND METHODS Included in the study were 99 patients with small cell tumors, classified in 2 broad groups: p...
