[Specific palatal infiltration in B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia].
There are numerous ocular and neurological lesions in ECCL, which occur ipsilaterally to the skin lesions. Particularly common, however, are what are called epibulbar choristomas; histologically these choristomas, like the skin lesions, are epibulbar dermoids10 or fibrolipomas. The severity of associated neurological disorders is important for the prognosis. These disorders, which do not correl...
متن کاملB-cell Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia
Purpose: To review the recent major advances in the molecular and cell biology of B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL). Methods: Weanalyzed thenatureofmalignantB-CLLB cells and their interactions with the microenvironment. Results: B-CLL is a malignancy of a mantle zonebased subpopulation of anergic, self-reactive, activated CD51 B cells devoted to the production of polyreactive natural ...
متن کاملPalatal enlargement in chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Palatal involvement in chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) is rare and has only been reported 3 previous times in the non-radiology literature. To our knowledge this is the first imaging description of this entity. Based on our experience, when smoothly lobulated, homogeneous masses are identified on the oral surface of the hard palate, the diagnosis of CLL should be considered.
متن کاملAlemtuzumab for B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
Alemtuzumab, a humanized monoclonal antibody, is thought to destroy cancer cells through immune system stimulation or apoptosis induction (programmed cell death). In case series studies using alemtuzumab as salvage therapy, about a third of patients with B-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL), who were otherwise refractory to chemotherapy, improved. Anti-tumour activity was also observed w...
متن کاملDefective T cell-mediated, isotype-specific immunoglobulin regulation in B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia.
The consistent occurrence of T cell abnormalities in patients with B cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia (B-CLL) suggest that the non-neoplastic host T cells may be involved in the pathogenesis of this B cell neoplasm. Because potential defects of immunoglobulin regulation are evident in B-CLL patients, we investigated one aspect of this by studying the T cell-mediated immunoglobulin isotype-spec...
