چکیده

Prunus laurocerasus L. (Rosaceae) is a summer fruit and evergreen species belonging to the family Rosaceae. It also known as cherry laurel, common sometimes English laurel. This plant grows naturally in North- Eastern region of Turkey. The aim study was investigate mite on P. trees eleven municipalities (Altınordu, Akkuş, Çaybaşı, Fatsa, Gülyalı, İkizce, Kabadüz, Kumru, Perşembe, Ulubey Ünye) Ordu province (Eastern Black Sea Region, Turkey) 2015 2016. Leaf samples were taken weekly from late April until early October each year. At sampling date, leaves different parts tree canopy, i.e. lower, middle upper. number sampled determined according total orchard. Approximately 20 per taken. A eighteen three orders, six families twelve genera identified including Phytoseiidae (7), Tydeidae (5), Tetranychidae (2), Stigmaeidae Iolinidae (1) Winterschmidtiidae during study. According results, have an especially rich fauna beneficial mites probably due lack pesticide usage.

Xylem cavitation in the leaf of Prunus laurocerasus and its impact on leaf hydraulics.

This paper reports how water stress correlates with changes in hydraulic conductivity of stems, leaf midrib, and whole leaves of Prunus laurocerasus. Water stress caused cavitation-induced dysfunction in vessels of P. laurocerasus. Cavitation was detected acoustically by counts of ultrasonic acoustic emissions and by the loss of hydraulic conductivity measured by a vacuum chamber method. Stems ...

In Vitro Pollen Viability and Pollen Germination in Cherry Laurel (Prunus laurocerasus L.)

Pollen quality is important for growers and breeders. This study was carried out to determine in vitro pollen viability and pollen germination in seven genotypes of cherry laurel (Prunus laurocerasus L.). Two pollen viability tests, TTC (2,3,5-triphenyl tetrazolium chloride) and IKI (iodine potassium iodide), were used. Pollen traits of genotypes were studied using an in vitro medium containing...

Chemical composition of the Prunus laurocerasus leaf surface. Dynamic changes of the epicuticular wax film during leaf development.

The seasonal development of adaxial Prunus laurocerasus leaf surfaces was studied using newly developed methods for the mechanical removal of epicuticular waxes. During epidermal cell expansion, more than 50 microg leaf(-1) of alkyl acetates accumulated within 10 d, forming an epicuticular wax film approximately 30 nm thick. Then, alcohols dominated for 18 d of leaf development, before alkanes ...
