Spawning and Reproductive Potential of Blue Swimming Crab (Portunus pelagicus) at Spermonde Archipelago, Indonesia

The problem in the management of blue swimming crab (BSC) fisheries is a decrease stock that overlaps with an increase fishing activities. This study aimed to analyze ratio spawning potential (SPR), reproductive potential, and productivity BSCs taken from Spermonde Islands. Spawning was analyzed using SPR, while analysis used relative proportion data between female, berried female average fecundity each class size. results showed BSC were growth overfishing recruitment overfishing. SPR estimated be 7%, below biological reference point. highest index females occurred group carapace width 111-120 mm which contributed 36.84% total egg production. value 1.35 indicating productive population.
