چکیده
Though the narrow-barred Spanish mackerel ( Scomberomorus commerson ) is considered to be migratory, species nevertheless thought locally overexploited in northwest Indian Ocean. At regional level, this local depletion a major concern for food security. As population structure and connectivity between sub-populations are poorly understood species, we examined spatio-temporal dynamics of via elemental concentrations (P, Mg, Sr Ba) along otolith transects using LA-ICPMS samples from 6 sites: Egypt, Djibouti North South, Somalia, Mozambique South Africa. For homogeneous size class (70–90 cm), chemical signatures immediately preceding capture were used accurately group individuals sharing spatial proximity and/or season capture. Notable differences edge found among north south equator contrasting cluster compositions nearby sites Gulf Aden captured summer versus winter. Otolith core chemistry identified two spawning compositions. The first common composition was characterized by relatively high lower P, Ba Mg. second less particularly rich Mg corresponded primarily caught off Mozambique, Somalia Djibouti. These results broadly consistent on one hand with patterns water mass circulation Red Sea western Ocean other observed seasons. further research using, example, archival tagging needed clarify mechanisms behind these patterns, reveal potential provide insights into mackerel.

The Effect of Stacking of Narrow-Barred Spanish Mackerel (Scomberoides commersonnianus) on Protein Composition and Amino Acid Profile
Salt curing (Kencing) is a method used for preserving food products, including fish, that is believed to influence the quality and chemical composition of the finial product. The present study is focused on the alteration of protein quality and amino acid profile of Scomberoides commersonnianus after stacking during 190 days of shelf life in ambient temperature. A12 assorted of specimens were c...
متن کاملThe impact of lipid content, cooking and reheating on volatile compounds found in Narrow – barred Spanish mackerel (Scomberomorous commerson)
Effects of four cooking methods (microwave cooking, grilling, steaming and shallow fat frying) and reheating by microwave on volatile profile in S. commerson were evaluated. Thirty compounds were identified in GC-MS analysis of raw samples. The number of volatile compounds had increased to 36, 46, 45 and 45 compounds in microwave cooked, grilled, steamed and shallow fat fried samples, respectiv...

متن کاملEstimating Growth and Mortality Parameters of Narrow-Barred Spanish Mackerel (Scomberomorus commerson) in the Iranian Waters of the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea
Scombermorus commerson is one of the most important and commercial species in the Persian Gulf and Oman Sea. In order to adopt the responsible fishing patterns, it was necessary to estimate population dynamic parameters. Samples were collected randomly from five major traditional fish-landing sites in Chabahar, Jask, Bandar Abbas, Bandar Lengeh and Parsian in the north of the Persian Gulf ...
متن کاملThe Taxonomy and Phylogeny of Echinometra (Camarodonta: Echinometridae) from the Red Sea and Western Indian Ocean
The number of valid species in the genus Echinometra (Echinodermata, Echinoidea) and their associated identification keys have been debated in the scientific literature for more than 180 years. As the phylogeny and dispersal patterns of these species have been widely used as a prominent model for marine speciation, new insights into their taxonomy have the potential to deepen our understanding ...
