Abstract. Water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes) is an invasive hydro plant that invaded the waters of Lake Victoria and has since been spreading rapidly affecting socio-economic livelihood community around Lake. The weed's rapid spread due to various anthropogenic activities in surrounding environment among them being eutrophication lake waters.This study aims at using remote sensing applications presenting results analysis water Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), extent, correlation with quality over time from Sentinel 2 satellite imagery January 2017 2021. understanding vegetation growth coverage five years sets basis monthly predictive modelling behavior hyacinth.
