Spatial and Temporal Oscillations of Surface Tension Induced by an A + B ? C Traveling Front

This work describes a new mechanism for the emergence of oscillatory dynamics driven by interaction hydrodynamic flows and reaction-diffusion processes with no autocatalytic feedback nor prescribed instability involved. To do so, we study an A+ B ? C front in presence chemically-driven Marangoni arbitrary initial concentrations reactants diffusion coefficients all species. All species are assumed to affect solution surface tension thereby inducing at air-liquid interface. The system is studied numerically integrating incompressible Navier-Stokes equations coupled reaction-diffusion-convection three chemical We report spatial temporal oscillations triggered differential effects surfactant chemically-induced effect. Such related discontinuous traveling along leading progressive formation local extrema profiles as time evolves.
