چکیده
Abstract We analyzed the effect of elevated temperatures on integrity high-strength engineered cementitious composite (ECC) made with a hybrid combination polyethylene (PE) and steel fibers. The 50 mm cube specimens were subjected to temperature ranging from 200 800 °C at three different heating rates: 1, 5, 10 °C/min. Five types mixes varying content supplementary materials fibers evaluated. No spalling was observed 1–5 °C/min rate <400 °C. However, for 600–800 °C, all ECC PE fiber volume 1.25 1% spalled explosively. Moreover, matrix silica fume more prone use slag or quaternary blend dolomite an optimum effective in maintaining even very high rates. Thus, type is equally important consider, as well content, while analyzing resistance ECC.

Monotonic and fatigue performance in bending of fiber-reinforced engineered cementitious composite in overlay system
This paper presents an experimental study and theoretical analyses on the monotonic and fatigue performance in bending of a polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber-reinforced engineered cementitious composite (ECC) overlay system. The influence of the interfacial characteristics between overlay and old concrete substrate on the overall bending performance is investigated. The experimental results show th...
متن کاملOptimisation of hybrid high-modulus/high-strength carbon fiber reinforced plastic composite drive
This study deals with the optimisation of hybrid composite drive shafts operating at subcritical or supercritical speeds, using a genetic algorithm. A formulation for the flexural vibrations of a composite drive shaft mounted on viscoelastic supports including shear effects is developed. In particular, an analytic stability criterion is developed to ensure the integrity of the system in the sup...
متن کاملStudy on Mechanical Properties and Constitutive Equation of Hybrid Fiber Reinforced Cementitious Composites Under Static Loading
Abstract: The Quasi-static mechanical properties of hybrid fiber (steel fiber and Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) fiber) reinforced cementitious composites (HFRCC(SP)) were investigated by compressive and tensile experiments. The compressive strength, peak strain, elastic modulus and tensile strength are studied as compared with that of engineered cementitious composite (ECC). Study results indicate th...

Composite panels using virgin and recycled high-density polyethylene (VHDPE and RHDPE) and five types of natural fibers including four rice straw components (i.e., rice husk, rice straw leaf, rice straw stem, and whole rice straw) and wood fiber as control were made by melt compounding and compression molding. Fiber characteristics and the influences of fiber type and loading rate on HDPE cryst...
متن کاملExperimental investigation of mechanical and dynamic impact properties of high strength cementitious composite containing micro steel and PP fibers
Cementitious composites are one of the most consumed construction materials in the world. The use of cementitious composites is increasing due to their special characteristics. The behavior of high strength cementitious composites is improved by increasing the fiber percentage. In the present paper, the effects of steel microfibers and polypropylene fibers on mechanical properties and impact re...
