Soybean Oil Epoxidation Catalyzed by a Functionalized Metal–Organic Framework with Active Dioxo-Molybdenum (VI) Centers

Abstract In this work, a functionalized gallium metal–organic framework with active dioxo-molybdenum (VI) centers was evaluated as catalyst in the epoxidation of soybean oil using tert-butyl-hydroperoxide an oxidizing agent. The influence reaction time, temperature, and concentration agent studied, it demonstrated that highest epoxide selectivity obtained at 110 °C after 4 h (29% conversion 91% selectivity) oil/oxidizing ratio 1/2. stability confirmed by infrared spectroscopy, X-ray powder diffraction, thermogravimetric analysis, scanning electron microscopy, energy-dispersive spectroscopy EDS. tests could be reused catalytic process for recovery vegetable oils.
