Duality Theorems for Crossed Products over Rings

In this note we extend duality theorems for crossed products obtained by M. Koppinen and C. Chen from the case of a base field or a Dedekind domain to the case of an arbitrary noetherian commutative ground ring under fairly weak conditions. In particular we extend an improved version of the celebrated Blattner-Montgomery duality theorem to the case of arbitrary noetherian ground rings.

On the Azumaya Locus of Some Crossed Products

Given D a commutative Noetherian domain and G a finite group acting faithfully on D as automorphisms of D, we describe the Azumaya locus of the crossed product D ∗ G and relate it with the singular locus of DG. To achieve this we will impose some basic homological conditions on D and on D ∗ G. Also, we give necessary and suficient conditions for a crossed product to be Azumaya.

Residually Finite Actions and Crossed Products

We study a notion of residual finiteness for continuous actions of discrete groups on compact Hausdorff spaces and how it relates to the existence of norm microstates for the reduced crossed product. Our main result asserts that an action of a free group on a zero-dimensional compact metrizable space is residually finite if and only if its reduced crossed product admits norm microstates, i.e., ...

Gelfand-Kirillov Dimension in some Crossed Products

Let k be a field, R a k-algebra and A = R[θ1, θ2, . . . , θn] a PoincaréBirkhoff-Witt extension of R. If each θi acts locally finitely on R, then we show that GKdim(A) = GKdim(R) + n. From this we deduce some results concerning incomparability, prime length and Tauvel’s height formula in the crossed product R?g where g is a finite-dimensional Lie algebra acting as derivations on R. Similar resu...
