چکیده
Abstract The protic ionic liquid pyridine hydrochloride is known to be a non-aqueous solvent for metal oxides, including rare-earth oxides. However, its application in extractive metallurgy and especially extraction has been so far limited by miscibility with the aqueous phase. In this paper, molten (165 °C) was used dissolve production scrap of Nd–Fe–B permanent magnets recover valuable metals neodymium dysprosium. powder completely dissolved just 10 min lixiviant–to–solid ratio g g?1. Afterwards, performed at high temperature using molecular extractants (PC-88A) or liquids (Cyphos IL 101). lowers viscosity solvents, that they can undiluted form. Moreover, affects equilibrium constants and, hence, distribution between two phases. first stage, 30 vol% PC-88A p-cymene extract dysprosium(III), whereas second stage 100 most neodymium(III). Finally, mixture Cyphos 101–p-cymene 70:30 (wt.:wt.) shown efficiently iron(II,III) from concentrate leachate. A conceptual flowsheet designed, which included recycling lower costs environmental impact process.

Rare earth elements and permanent magnets (invited)
Rare earth (RE) magnets have become virtually indispensible in a wide variety of industries such as aerospace, automotive, electronics, medical, and military. RE elements are essential ingredients in these high performance magnets based on intermetallic compounds RECo5, RE2TM17 (TM: transition metal), and RE2TM14B. Rare earth magnets are known for their superior magnetic properties—high inducti...
متن کاملRecovery and Separation of Rare Earth Elements Using Salmon Milt
Recycling rare earth elements (REEs) used in advanced materials such as Nd magnets is important for the efficient use of REE resources when the supply of several REEs is limited. In this work, the feasibility of using salmon milt for REE recovery and separation was examined, along with the identification of the binding site of REEs in salmon milt. Results showed that (i) salmon milt has a suffi...
متن کاملRare Earth Elements Profile
Definitions and characteristics The rare earth elements (REE) (sometimes referred to as the rare earth metals) are a group of 17 chemically similar metallic elements, including the 15 lanthanides, scandium and yttrium. The lanthanides are elements spanning atomic numbers 57 (lanthanum, La) to 71 (lutetium, Lu) (Table 1). The lanthanides all occur in nature, although promethium, the rarest, only...
متن کاملMAGNETIC VISCOSITY IN NdFeB MAGNETS
The relaxation of the magnetization is calculated for isotropic and anisotropic magnets. For NdFeB magnets, the dependence of Sv on texture, above room temperature, is roughly consistent with the model, while the NdDyFeB magnets show no dependence upon texture.
متن کاملOn the Extraction of Rare Earth Elements from Geothermal Brines
The availability of rare earth elements from primary resources has come into question in the last two decades. This has sparked various government and industry initiatives to examine potential rare earth element resources apart from virgin ore bodies. Geothermal fluids are potentially significant sources of valuable minerals and metals, while co-recovery with geothermal energy production would ...
