Solving Baxter’s TQ-equation via representation theory
Baxter’s TQ-equation is solved for the six-vertex model using the representation theory of quantum groups at roots of unity. A novel simplified construction of the Q-operator is given depending on a new free parameter. Specializing this general construction to even roots of unity and lattices with an odd number of columns two linearly independent operator solutions of Baxter’s TQ equation are o...
متن کاملSolving Diophantine Equations via Lucas-Lehmer Theory
In this work we look at an approach to solving Pell’s equation using continued fractions and fundamental units in real quadratic orders. We demonstrate that there is an underlying general approach using Lucas-Lehmer methods for solving Pell and other quadratic Diophantine equations that is often overlooked in the literature. متن کاملSolving the Linear Bellman Equation via Dual Kernel Embeddings
We introduce a data-efficient approach for solving the linear Bellman equation, which corresponds to a class of Markov decision processes (MDPs) and stochastic optimal control (SOC) problems. We show that this class of control problem can be cast as a stochastic composition optimization problem, which can be further reformulated as a saddle point problem and solved via dual kernel embeddings [1...
متن کاملTheory of perturbed equilibria for solving the Grad-Shafranov equation
The theory of perturbed magnetohydrodynamic equilibria is presented for di erent formulations of the tokamak equilibrium problem. For numerical codes, it gives an explicit Newton scheme for solving the Grad-Shafranov equation subject to di erent constraints. The problem of stability of axisymmetric modes is shown to be a particular case of the equilibrium perturbation theory.
متن کاملSolving the stationary Liouville equation via a boundary element method
Energy distributions of linear wave fields are, in the high frequency limit, often approximated in terms of flow or transport equations in phase space. Common techniques for solving the flow equations in both time dependent and stationary problems are ray tracing and level set methods. In the context of predicting the vibro-acoustic response of complex engineering structures, related methods su...
