Solid‐State Fabrication of Cu <sub>2</sub> O/CuO Hydroxide Nanoelectrode Array onto Graphene Paper by Thermal Dewetting for High‐Sensitive Detection of Glucose

Nanostructures of Cu2O/CuO hydroxide suitable for the electrochemical determination glucose are obtained by solid-state dewetting CuO layers 6, 8, and 31 nm thin deposited sputtering onto 240 μm-thick graphene paper. Solid-state in nitrogen produces a partial decomposition into Cu2O Cu. X-ray diffraction patterns reveal presence high-index crystallographic facets, which reactive useful toward oxidation to gluconolactone. Typically, morphology studied scanning electron microscopy reveals faceted nanoparticles with an average size below 200 nm. photoelectron spectroscopy shows that nanostructure surfaces metallic copper exposed natural ambient promptly reoxidized hydroxidized mixture Cu(OH)2. Electrochemical characterization amperometric mode linear response concentration range from 50 10 × 10−3 m, sensitivity up 83 μA cm−2 mm −1, limit detection 3.6 10−6 m. Good combination low cost simplicity preparation detection, high sensitivity, wide makes proposed electrodes variety applications ranging health food beverage industries.
