Solid-state reaction synthesis and optical property analysis of LaF<sub>3</sub>–LaOF:Yb<sup>3+</sup>/Ho<sup>3+</sup> upconversion phosphors

In this study, LaF3–LaOF:Yb3+/Ho3+ upconversion (UC) phosphors were synthesized via a solid-state reaction and their optical properties analyzed. The analysis of photoluminescence (PL) characteristics revealed strong emission at wavelength 543 nm for molar ratios La:Yb:Ho = 1:x:y, where x 0.04–−0.06 y 0.01–−0.03. pump power dependence phosphor PL the fluorescence lifetime then measured, mechanism UC is discussed.
