Solid solutions of lithium niobate and lithium tantalate: crystal growth and the ferroelectric transition

چکیده

Specific heat capacity measurements by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) of single crystals solid solutions LiNbO3 and LiTaO3 are reported compared with corresponding ab initio calculations, the aim to investigate variation ferroelectric Curie temperature as a function composition. For this purpose, these were grown Czochralski pulling along c-axis. Elemental composition Nb Ta was investigated using XRF analysis, small samples homogeneous well known used for DSC measurements. We observed that decreases linearly increasing concentration in LiNb1−x Tax O3 solution crystals. Furthermore, transition width mixed crystal appears be smaller, pure LiTaO3.

Phenomenological theory of a single domain wall in uniaxial trigonal ferroelectrics: Lithium niobate and lithium tantalate

A phenomenological treatment of domain walls based on the Ginzburg-Landau-Devonshire theory is developed for uniaxial trigonal ferroelectrics, lithium niobate and lithium tantalate. The contributions to the domainwall energy from polarization and strain as a function of orientation are considered. Analytical expressions are developed that are analyzed numerically to determine the minimum polari...

1 Growth and Properties of Ru Doped Lithium Niobate Crystal

Ruthenium (Ru) doped lithium niobate (LiNbO3) single crystal was grown by the Czochralski method from a congruent melt composition. The color of the Ru: LiNbO3 was red and darkened with the increasing Ru concentration. The amount of Ru concentrated in the grown crystal gradually decreased along the pulling direction because the effective segregation coefficient of Ru in lithium niobate is great...

Ultrafast zone-center coherent lattice dynamics in ferroelectric lithium tantalate.

Femtosecond time-resolved pump-probe experiments were carried out to study ultrafast lattice dynamics of ferroelectric lithium tantalate. Both the fully symmetric (A1 mode) and doubly degenerate (E mode) coherent phonons at the center of the Brillouin zone were excited via impulsive stimulated Raman scattering, as confirmed by the excitation intensity dependence.
